About SRCN

Students Research Council Nepal (SRCN) is a government affiliated non-profit youth organization of Nepal that brings young enthusiasts from different fields and backgrounds on a single platform. The organization helps like-minded students connect to each other and work collaboratively in their respective fields of interest--Physics, Computer Science, English, Biology, Economics And Politics--to tackle real world problems through research.

For this application process, all the students from grade 10 to high school graduates (not enrolled in university) are invited to fill out the application form and be a part of our community. Participants and mentors of SRCN will work together to complete the projects and research for 10 weeks.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us through our email (contact@srcnepal.com) or through our website (srcnepal.com).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

Students who are enrolled in grade 10 to those who have completed high school but not enrolled in any university are welcome to apply.

The program will last for ten weeks. Usually the application form is released in Mid-January. The program will commence in Mid-February this year and run until the beginning of May.

There is no exact number of students to be accepted. Each team will consist of 4-5 participants according to the needs of the projects. So, a cohort of 20 students can be expected.

There are altogether five fields this year: Physics, Computer Science, Gender Economics, Biology and English Literature.

We do not have any rigid set of criteria to select our cohort. We select the participants taking their backgrounds and their fit into the project into account. We review your application holistically. So, don’t worry if you do not have outstanding grades, craft the rest of the application (essays/videos) to the best of your ability.

Beginners in research paper writing can get to learn on paper writing, and research methodologies from the mentors. Computer Science students can expect to create a project that serves human use. Apart from that, guidance on US college applications and general career advice will also be provided.

Time commitment of 10 hours per week is expected from the participants.

The selected candidates will be assigned to the teams on the account of the set of interests they show in the application and the skills they present.

Considering the ongoing Covid pandemic, we understand that not all schools provide transcripts on time. In this case, please provide any latest marksheet available to you. Please note that the transcripts are asked only to verify your educational institutions and educational level. Should you need further assistance, please feel free to reach out at contact@srcnepal.com or use the contact form at the bottom of this site.
